Two Slovak Wine Regions in One Weekend

Short description

1^st day

Arrival to Bratislava - transfer to the hotel*** - guided walking sightseeing tour that presents the most famous historical monuments and interesting sights of Bratislava.

2^nd day

Trip by minibus to the Small Carpathian Mountains, typical for vineyards on their slopes, wine production and traditional ceramics. During the tour you will visit the Slovak National Wine Salon located in the Chateau Pezinok in the wine town Pezinok with the opportunity to taste slovak wines and to buy the best wines. Tour continues to the town of Modra famous for hand made and hand painted ceramics, then to Červený Kameň Castle (the Red Stone Castle) priding on the largest cellars in Central Europe. Tour ends in a district town of Trnava named "Slovak Rome" - overnight in the hotel***.

3^rd day

In the morning short sightseeing tour of the historical centre incl. St. John`s Cathedral - tour continues from Trnava to Skalica - a town on Slovak-Czech border with vineyard in its surroundings. A sightseeing tour of Skalica incl. visit to the Regional Museum with winegrowing and typical Haban ceramics expositions and old Slav Rotunda from 11. century. Accommodation in the hotel**** - dinner at a local wine cellar with wine and typical cake tasting - "Skalický trdelník".

4^th day

The route of this day runs from Skalica to Šaštín - the best known pilgrim place in Slovakia - visit to the Cathedral of Virgin Mary. Tour ends in Bratislava with a transfer to the airport.
