Day 1

Vienna

Welcome to the Vienna Hofburg - the former Habsburg winter residence where you can see the Imperial Apartments, the Sisi Museum and the Imperial Silver Collection. In six rooms you can explore the famous empress´s life and complex personality in an exhibition free from the usual clichés associated with Sisi. The dinner and overnight in Vienna.

 

Day 2

Vienna - Bratislava

The highlight of this tour will be a visit of Schönbrunn Palace, the Habsburg family´s summer residence and Maria Theresa´s home. You will see also 6 attractions at Schönbrunn - Privy Garden, Gloriette Panorama Terrace, Maze and Labyrinth, Carriage Museum, Schönbrunn Zoo and Schönbrunn Bakery. Tour continue to Bratislava via Hof Castle in Austria - the baroque country estate of Prince Eugene of Savoy and Empress Maria Theresa was once one of the most splendid castles of the Habsburg monarchy. Dinner and overnight in Bratislava.

 

Day 3

Bratislava - Červený Kameň Castle - Devín Castle

Drive to Devín to the majestic relics of the castle, situated on a bulky rock over the confluence of the rivers Danube and Morava. Today the castle houses archaeological expositions "Jewels of ancient Slovakia".

Tour continue to Červený Kameň Castle - the best and largely preserved castle near Bratislava, a national cultural monument. There is a valuable collection of historic furniture and interesting great cellars. Dinner in the typical Slovak restaurant in Pezinok. Overnight in Bratislava.

 

Day 4

Bratislava - Banská Štiavnica  - Banská Bystrica - High Tatras

Starý zámok (Old chateau) and Nový zámok (New chateau) together with a baroque Calvary are the characteristic dominants of Banská Štiavnica in the Central Slovakia. The town as the important medieval mining centre together with other mining technical monuments in surroundings were included in the list of UNESCO Heritage in 1993. Southerly from Banská Štiavnica is situated the late baroque storeyed mansion Svätý Anton. We continue to Banská Bystrica - Historical Town Reserve incl. important historical buildings in the main square and the Castle from the 15^th century. Drive to the High Tatras - the highest mountain range in Slovakia. Dinner and overnight in the High Tatras.  

 

Day 5

Spiš Castle - Kežmarok - Stará Ľubovňa

Spiš Castle - ruin of one of the largest castles in medieval central Europe (area of 4,2 hectares). Drive to Kežmarok - one of the oldest and the most important towns of Spiš region. You will see the formerly gothic castle from 14th century lately rebuilt into renaissance chateaux, renaissance town hall built in 16th century, wooden articular church and Lutheran Lycee having the largest school library in the Middle Europe. Tour continue to Stará Ľubovňa with the excursion in the castle in Stará Ľubovňa, originaly border castle on the north of historic Hungary. Dinner and overnight in the High Tatras.

 

Day 6

Betliar - Krásna Hôrka - Miskolc - Budapest 

The history of the mansion Betliar was dated from the half of the 15^th century. The mansion presents beauty of the artistic interior with precious historical furniture, textiles, porcelain ware, glassware, paintings, historical firearms and gamekeeper´s  trophys. In the surroundings you will find Krásna Hôrka castle, situated on a solitary conic hill. The castle together with its mausoleum are the most visited Slovak historical sights. A drive through Miskolc will take you to Budapest, a city rich in traditions and the capital city of Hungary. The Danube river that flows through this city divides it into two parts: Buda and Pest. Dinner and overnight in Budapest.

 

Day 7

Budapest

City tour in Budapest will introduce you the main highlights of both parts of Budapest as the Castle Hill rising above the Danube, the first permanent bridge over the Danube, the Chain Bridge, building of Parliament, Heroes Square and much more. End of services.
